Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee on Energy. Hearings held.
This bill tells the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to change the rules for how new power plants get connected to the electrical grid. It would let grid operators move certain power projects, specifically ones that can produce electricity on demand (like natural gas, coal, or nuclear plants), to the front of the waiting line ahead of other projects (like solar or wind farms). If this passes, "always available" power plants could get connected to the grid faster, while other energy projects could wait longer.
