Placed on Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders. Calendar No. 370.
This bill requires the federal government to create a complete list of every federal crime, both in laws passed by Congress and in regulations created by federal agencies. The lists must be made public online. The goal is to let Congress and the public see exactly how many things are federal crimes, how often they are actually prosecuted, and what the penalties are.
Nobody , not Congress, not the Justice Department, not even legal experts , knows exactly how many federal crimes exist. This bill would force the government to count them all and publish the list online, giving ordinary people a way to actually see what actions could land them in federal trouble.
