Ordered to be Reported (Amended) by the Yeas and Nays: 40 - 0.
This bill creates a required training program to teach federal employees how to spot fraud and prevent incorrect payments in government programs. It also makes that training available to state, local, and tribal workers who manage federal money. If it passes, thousands of government workers would need to complete anti-fraud training within six months and retake it every two years.
The federal government loses an estimated $236 billion a year to improper payments , money sent to the wrong people, in the wrong amounts, or for the wrong reasons. This bill would require thousands of government workers who manage federal money to learn how to catch fraud before it happens, potentially saving taxpayers billions.
