This bill lets the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) share food safety information with state, local, tribal, and territorial health authorities without having to redact (black out) details first. It also extends existing food safety grants from 3-year terms to 5-year terms. If this passes, local health departments could get faster, more complete information during food recalls and foodborne illness outbreaks.
