Ordered to be Reported (Amended) by the Yeas and Nays: 40 - 0.
This bill lets federal employees earn cash bonuses for pointing out wasteful spending at their agencies. It doubles the maximum bonus from $10,000 to $20,000 and creates a new process where agencies must flag identified waste to the President for possible spending cuts. If this passes, federal workers would have a stronger financial reason to report waste, and agencies would have to publicly track and report these findings.
Federal employees who spot wasteful spending could earn up to $20,000 for reporting it , double the current cap , giving government workers a direct financial incentive to flag unnecessary costs that ultimately come out of taxpayers' pockets.
