This bill lets the federal government give money to states so they can find uterine fibroids earlier and help people get treatment sooner. It also funds research into treatment disparities and related conditions. If it passes, states could run screening programs, awareness campaigns, and research projects focused on uterine fibroids.
Uterine fibroids affect up to 80% of women by age 50, often causing severe pain, heavy bleeding, and fertility problems , yet there is no dedicated federal program to catch them early. This bill would create the first national effort to screen for fibroids before they require costly surgery or cause lasting harm.
